This policy sets out the basis on which personal information about you may be collected and used when you use the following website: www.lamoda.co.uk (“Sites”) and interact with us on LAMODA’s official Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and Youtube accounts (“Social Media”). By using the Sites and Social Media you are accepting and consenting to the terms of this policy.

LAMODA Brands Limited (company number 08473111) (“we”, “us”, “our” and “LAMODA”) of 28 Kylemore Way, Manchester is the owner and operator of the Sites and the relevant accounts on the Social Media.

We are committed to maintaining your privacy. We are registered as a data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 (“DPA”).

We reserve the right to amend these Terms from time to time. The Terms were most recently updated on 15 September 2015.

 

OUR KEY PRINCIPLES

Our key principles when it comes to your information is pretty simple:

       Any personal information you provide to us belongs to you, not us – you have full control over this.

We will only collect, keep, use and share your information for genuine business purposes (e.g to inform our courier where to deliver an order you’ve placed, improve our services or to send you promotional emails) or when we’re legally required to do so.

We will always be as transparent as we can with you about the information we collect and how we use it, to make sure you are always in the loop and are able to control your information as easily as possible.

We treat all of your information as confidential and will always protect it using the appropriate security safeguards.

 

 

HOW DO WE USE & PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?

During your use of the Sites and the Social Media and when you purchase items from or participate in any promotions on or linked to the Sites and/or on the Social Media we may collect and process the following information about you. We ask for personal details such as your full name, date of birth, home address, delivery address, email address, contact number and credit card and other payment details when you purchase items from the Sites (“Items”). When you place an order on the Sites (“Order”) we will generate an order number linked to you. You may also give us information about you when you fill in forms on the Sites or when you talk to us on Social Media - for example when subscribe to our newsletters, enter our competitions and other promotions, when you complete forms to receive specific offers or when you take part in our Social Media activities or surveys. In certain situations you might provide us with additional information about you, such as your photograph and other images and identifying information, your interests, details of your Social Media accounts, posts and preferences. You must ensure the information you provide is accurate and up to date. By providing information about you to us you warrant that the information is accurate and up to date and that you will keep us informed of any changes.

When you use the Sites and the Social Media we may automatically collect the following information: technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from the Sites (including date and time), products you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our customer service number.

We work closely with third parties (including, for example, our delivery companies who deliver Items to you, card protection and payment processing companies that process your payments for Items, business partners (including without limitation third parties that provide promotions and prizes on the Sites and/or Social Media and third parties that we consider you may be interested in based on your preferences and use of our Sites), sub-contractors in technical, advertising networks, market research and promotions management agencies, analytics providers, search information providers and credit reference agencies) and may receive information about you from them.

We will NEVER sell any of your confidential information to any third parties or marketing agencies.

We are always working to make sure your information is fully protected.  As soon as we receive your information, we use various security features and procedures, taking into account industry standards, to try to protect the personal information that you provide and to prevent unauthorised access to that information. Access to your data on LAMODA is password-protected, and sensitive data (such as credit card information) is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and LAMODA. To further secure your credit card, we also don’t keep details of the security code (or CCV number) that you need to input in order to complete an order using your credit card.

To protect any data you store on our servers, we regularly monitor our system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks, as well as carrying out penetration testing of our own on those systems to try to identify possible improvements.   We also use a tier-one secured-access data center.

We will ALWAYS do our best to protect your personal data.  Unfortunately, security cannot always be guaranteed.  There are therefore a number of general things we would also recommend that you do to help us to keep your information safe.  Always use a strong password that includes characters other than just letters.  We will also encourage you not to use the same password across all or many of your online accounts.
